Lookbook No. 4: Puget Sound!
Last week was a whirlwind trip around Puget Sound, and the prevailing theme of all of our travels was water. All sizes and types of bodies of water: Snoqualmie Falls and the Tolt River, up to Bellingham Bay, through the Saratoga Passage off the coast of Whidbey Island, and then finally crossing Elliott Bay by ferry from Bainbridge Island to the Seattle waterfront. To me, there is something so peaceful and calming about all that water, and it is stunningly beautiful at all times of the day and night!
We met with wonderful makers all over the Puget Sound region, and our travels included animal friends too, both domestic and wild. We oohed and aahed over three-day old lambs, and fluffy angora rabbits, were amazed by the number of wild bunnies in the little village of Langley on Whidbey Island (I stopped counting at 100!), excited to spot deer and quail in the woods of the island, and enthralled to watch a bald eagle fishing for supper for over an hour one balmy evening. Puget Sound is truly a lovely home for both people and animals alike.
Now, with interviews and photographs complete, both my photographer Karen and I are in full-blown creative mode, crafting Lookbook No. 4 page by page. In the coming weeks, I'll have sneak peeks for our readers of our featured interviews and projects, but for now, all I can tell you is that the breathtaking beauty of the region and of the creations of the makers we visited with is really going to shine in this lookbook!
