Returns

Digital

Due to the transmutable nature of digital materials, we do not process returns on any digital media. This includes digital media purchased in error or duplicate. Please read carefully what is included in each digital issue, as digital issues may not include all original patterns and materials. We offer free copies of released digitals to customers who have purchased individual or subscription copies through our store. If you have purchased your copies at an independent retailer you may be asked to provide proof of purchase to redeem your digital copies.

Print Issues

We do not accept returns on any books or issues, in print or digital. If your volume has arrived damaged, please reach out to us via the Contact Us link at the bottom of our website with your order number and we will work on getting you a replacement if possible. Damages must be reported within 10 days of receipt according to tracking.

Sample Sales

Occasionally we run sample sales of garment samples, tests and prototypes. These items are one of a kind, handmade pieces, and we have done our best to accurately represent colors, textures, and the overall condition of each piece in our photography. It is possible for some screens to display differences (especially in tone, color and texture) and we do not accept returns of these pieces for any reason. We keep our prices low for all samples and handmade pieces as they may have experienced some level of wear or use in our photography, trunk show or during the development process.

Subscriptions

By Hand Serial Print Subscriptions

Note: there are no current active subscriptions or options to subscribe to By Hand until we resume publishing. Our print By Hand Serial subscriptions run on a quarterly basis and are published once per season. As a subscriber, you have the option to choose if your subscription will renew quarterly or annually during the signup process. To switch, please send us a message via the Contact link at the bottom of our site. We are unable to offer refunds on cancelled annual subscriptions (we will deliver the remainder of the issues in your subscription but it will not renew). Quarterly subscriptions maybe cancelled at any time but will not be refunded for distributed issues.
