As makers and creatives, where we’re located physically can have an impact on our work. Our locations inspire us and can even provide us with unique materials. The communities we call home influence our work as we find our place within them.

By Hand Serial is a series of beautiful, thoughtfully created Lookbooks, authored by Andrea Hungerford, a maker with a deep love of travel.

Andrea and the By Hand Serial team produced over 15 volumes from 2016 to 2022, each centered around a different location and exploring the creatives within.

The By Hand Serial books are knitting-forward, but have a mixed-craft focus across each book, featuring knitting and sewing patterns and projects for a variety of handcrafts.

Each issue highlights regional designers, makers, shops, interesting locations and more, making them wonderful travel guides for crafters and creatives.
