This state is home to some of the most epic and beautiful landscapes in the country, from Glacier National Park’s turquoise waters to the craggy, pine-covered mountains of Big Sky and Whitefish.

This issue features makers Ruby + Revolver, Montana Wool Works, Morley Canoes, Stella Bread, The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers, Aporta Shop, Nona & Co. Macrame, Meghan Purcell Fiber Art and Western Bound Goods.

Along with patterns from Andrea Hungerford, this issue features guest designers Kjerste Whaley, Shellie Anderson, Renate Yerkes, Leah Angle and Irina Pi, to create a collection of eight projects for knitting, sewing and macramé, and a recipe for Autumn Panzanella.

Red Sandalwood (not the scented kind) produces a bright orange-red dye bath that I was hoping would yield colors just as strong! I saved the paste in case I need to use it again later, but the results were surprising--check them out on our Season of
Rainbow of naturally dyed color from trees on cotton and linen--yes please! I'm amazed at the range of color achieved by these little experiments and can't wait to dive in deeper and prep some fabric for quilting this fall.⁠
